Six of the top nine teams in the country lost last week, but none fell harder than Florida.
In today’s Associated Press poll, the Gators dropped from No. 8 to No. 11. That came after a week in which UF lost by six at Tennessee and won by 12 at home against Alabama.
Florida, which began the season at No. 10, surged as high as No. 2 (Feb. 4). The current ranking is the team’s worst since holding the same spot Jan. 7.
Many of the teams ahead of the Gators still have tough games remaining, and Florida could move back up the list quickly. UF hosts Vanderbilt on Wednesday (8 p.m., SEC Network) and travels to Kentucky on Saturday (12 p.m., CBS) before starting the SEC Tournament next Friday in Nashville, Tenn.
